WTS-VT: Smashing Sexism Goes Global

I hope What’s the Story? 2018 and NGLN is off to a great start! We wanted to give you a brief update of the Smashing Sexism plans for 2017-18 so far. As you probably know, Anna is in Spain for the year, so we will miss her greatly, but Emily and I have decided to continue with the team together. We have several tentative plans to come to MUHS classes to present that are still “in the works”, but we are excited to present to students again already. In addition, we have been in contact with a school in India called Kendriya Vidyalaya Malappuram, which Erik has a connection with from former teaching. We are hoping to do a video conference workshop with them sometime in the next few weeks, which is very exciting as well. We will be addressing an entirely new and different audience. Lastly, we have been invited back to the Global Issues Network Conference 2018 in Rutland to give two gender bias presentations on April 5th of next year. This was a great starting point for us last year, and we look forward to returning.
We hope everything goes well for the rest of the year of WtS!!
Thanks,
Theo Wells-Spackman

    Theo,
This is great news! You are truly thinking globally and acting locally. I can hardly wait to hear all about your connection with India, Additionally, I am eager to learn more about the MUHS presentations. Do you contact individual teachers and present to their classes, or do you present to a larger group, like an assembly? Please keep us informed. The work that NGLN-VT is doing is important! Thank you for the leadership.
    Ceci
