Bread Loaf Teacher Network

30 Years Along and Running Strong

The Bread Loaf Teacher Network is an open network of scholars, educators, and youth based out of the Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English.

The network is made up of teachers educated at Bread Loaf and supported during the academic year by Bread Loaf staff and faculty. Its primary goal is to encourage year-round collaboration among Bread Loaf teachers, faculty, and their students on innovative online projects designed to promote culturally sensitive and transformative literacy.

Since its inception over 30 years ago, the BLTN has evolved to support grassroots education efforts that are characteristically student-centered, driven by literacy, and aimed at social action and community engagement. As the host site of the Next Generation Leadership Network, the BLTN offers youth leaders a context for sharing ideas, resources, and contacts as they collaboratively engage in social action teams.
